Come Fly With Us !

Flying activities are in full swing for the season at the Sterling Field. Grass had originally been growing fast enough that the field needed to be mowed more often than normal, but summer heat and the lack of rain means that the field remains very usable pretty much all the time for those of you with smaller-wheeled aircraft. The quad course is in good shape too, although this video, which gives a nice, slow demonstration of how it's normally flown, shows that perhaps some of the gates could use a little triming. In any case - come out and fly !!!
Meetings are now back onto an every-other month schedule. The Fitchburg Pilots Association has been gracious in allowing us to use its hangar for meetings this past year - directions are given below. Our November, 2022 meeting is scheduled for:
Wednesday, November 9th, 7:00pm,
(updates an earlier incorrect date)
at the FPA hangar.
There are lots of items to discuss and members should have received an email with more details. The club has grown to 48 members and the agenda for the meeting is expected to include:
1. Election of officers this month.
2. Possible future weather station and member ability to view field and see wind conditions.
3. Regular club meetings - monthly or bimonthly? Jan-June, September- November.
4. Field maintenance to be shared with Jim O’Driscoll and Dave Schilling
5. Food/Snacks at meetings
6. 2023 Open House with town of Sterling
7. Mower use and care
8. Shed use and care.
9. Porta Potti cost and need
Directions to the FPA Hangar
Drive to Fitchburg Airport, following the airport signs. As you drive down the access road toward the terminal building the FPA hangar will be to your right at the bottom of the hill. Parking is in the lot between the hangar and the terminal building.
